// Event Notes
A documented case study from January 2026: Erick and Yvette’s blue-hour proposal on a private Copernic rooftop terrace, planned in 16 days from first contact.
Residential buildings are trickier than palace hotels. You need a credible reason to walk through someone’s lobby and emerge onto a private terrace without tipping your hand. The cover has to hold.
The Brief
Erick contacted us in late December to propose on a private terrace with a straight-on Eiffel Tower view. No crowds. The plan included live music, a photographer, and Yvette’s best friend, Roksana, there to witness it. Dinner was booked at Le Grand Salon in Hôtel Particulier Montmartre. Lead time was tight—16 days from first contact to execution—and Erick wanted blue hour for that soft, vivid winter light. To sell the surprise, he told Yvette dinner was booked at Girafe—making a “quick stop at Margaux’s nearby apartment” feel natural.
The Constraints
At the Peninsula, you would suggest “drinks at the rooftop bar,” and it lands. In a residential building like Copernic, you need a cover that holds up to scrutiny—a reason to walk through a stranger’s lobby, take their phone-booth-sized elevator, and end up on a private terrace without raising suspicion. The Girafe dinner reservation helped, but the choreography still had to be airtight.
January 15th brought sustained wind, so we secured the runner, used weighted vases, and protected candles in hurricane glass. The bigger challenge: timing the proposal to blue hour and the Tower’s five-minute sparkle window while keeping Roksana informed and Yvette completely in the dark.
How We Produced It
Chantelle evolved the concept with Erick over two weeks. Margaux handled production on the ground. The setup leaned into winter—white aisle carpet, white roses and snapdragons, standing candelabras with chiffon draping, and candles that could handle the wind. The florist ran an early load-in to have everything set before arrival.
The cover: Roksana introduced Margaux as an old friend from her exchange student days and suggested stopping by for drinks and photos before dinner. Since she’s Yvette’s best friend, it felt natural. Day-of, Margaux coordinated all vendor arrivals and timing cues.
We timed their arrival for blue hour, landing the proposal as the Eiffel Tower lit up and hit its five-minute sparkle window. Our master violinist played Drake feat. Tems’ “Fountains” as Erick walked Yvette down the aisle.
She said yes. Ruinart followed immediately—laughter, tears, and that first toast as an engaged couple. They stayed for portraits while Paris glowed below, then stepped outside to find a waiting Maybach for a private drive through the City of Lights before arriving at Le Grand Salon in Montmartre for dinner.

‘I wanted a team that cared—not a transaction. Chantelle made planning exciting rather than stressful, kept my budget in mind, and when rain threatened, assured me they had it handled. Margaux coordinated the surprise discreetly via WhatsApp, and the day turned out better than I imagined—photos included.’

‘We can’t recommend Kiss Me in Paris enough. They made our Paris proposal stress-free—the best surprise we could have hoped for. Everything was planned in a way that kept the surprise completely intact, and we could focus on each other while the team handled timing on-site.’

How does planning work if we’re not in Paris?
It starts with a short call, then we take over—securing the venue, coordinating suppliers, handling logistics, and managing production. You’ll have one English-speaking point of contact who keeps everything clear from first conversation to final send-off.
How far in advance should we start planning?
For weddings and elopements, 9–15 months gives you the best access to sought-after venues and teams. For proposals and travel, 1–3 months is ideal. Shorter timeline? We regularly deliver strong results with far less notice—we’ll tell you what’s realistic fast.
What is the typical investment?
Proposal pricing depends on venue, planning level, florals, and add-on services.
Full-service planning: The production shown here — custom florals, live music, multi-vendor coordination, and private Maybach transport — is delivered as a full-service planning engagement. Planning fee is €1,200 or 15% of total budget, whichever is greater. Most full-planning proposals run from €10,000 into six figures depending on venue (residential rooftop, palace hotel, or château), real-versus-silk florals, talent, and add-ons such as helicopter or yacht arrivals, custom artwork by named artists, premium champagne, and bespoke transport.
Weddings & Events: Custom-quoted based on scope, guest count, and complexity.
Photography & Video: Photography starts at €250/hour. Video starts at €500/hour.

How do you handle privacy and discretion?
We routinely work with public figures, executives, and couples who prefer to stay out of the spotlight. NDA protection is available, supplier access is limited on a need-to-know basis, and we never publish identifiable images without explicit approval. Your private life stays private.
Can you plan our entire trip, not just the event?
Yes. Our Private Travel Design service manages your full stay—hotel recommendations, dining access, transportation, and day-by-day planning across Paris, Courchevel, Champagne, or the Riviera. The days around your event receive the same level of attention as the event itself.
