1. What this policy covers

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, which ones are active on kissinparis.com, and how you can control them. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.

We use cookies for three purposes: keeping the site running, understanding how it is used, and measuring advertising performance. Each category is explained below.

Our cookie banner lets you accept or refuse analytics and marketing cookies in the same place, with equal ease. Non-essential cookies are off by default and are only set if you actively choose ‘Accept’. Continuing to browse or closing the banner does not count as acceptance.

Non-essential scripts — including the Google Analytics tag and, when active, the Meta Pixel — are not loaded until you give consent. No analytics or marketing data is collected before that point.

Strictly necessary cookies are set because they are required to provide the website and remember your cookie choices. Analytics and marketing cookies are set only with your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a) and ePrivacy rules as implemented in France).

2. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to remember information about your visit — for example, whether you have already seen the cookie consent banner — and to collect data about how pages are used.

Some cookies are set by us directly; others are set by third-party services we use, such as Google Analytics. We do not sell personal data. When you accept analytics or marketing cookies, information may be shared with the relevant providers (Google, Meta) to deliver the services described in this policy.

3. Strictly necessary cookies

These cookies are required for the site to function. They cannot be switched off. No consent is needed to set them, in line with Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive.

Note: WordPress sets session cookies for logged-in administrators only. These are not active for regular visitors to kissinparis.com.

4. Analytics cookies

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors interact with the site — which pages are viewed, how long people stay, and where they arrive from. This data is linked to pseudonymous identifiers (such as a cookie ID). We do not use it to identify you directly.

Analytics cookies are only set after you accept them via the consent banner. You can withdraw consent at any time by reopening the banner via the ‘Cookie preferences’ link in the footer.

Depending on how Google tags are implemented, additional Google cookies may appear. We keep this table updated based on cookies observed on our site.

Our GA4 configuration: Google Signals is off. Granular location and device data are off. User and event data retention is set to 14 months in GA4.

Cookie duration and analytics data retention are different settings. The _ga cookie can persist on your device for up to 2 years, but the reporting data we hold in GA4 is deleted after 14 months. Some browsers enforce shorter cookie lifetimes than the durations shown above — Safari, for example, may expire JavaScript-set cookies after 7 days.

Data collected by Google Analytics is transferred to Google’s servers, which may be located outside the EU. See our Privacy Policy (Section 6) for details on international transfer safeguards.

5. Marketing cookies

We use the Meta Pixel to measure the reach and effectiveness of our advertising on Meta platforms (Facebook and Instagram). When enabled, the Meta Pixel sends event information (such as page views) to Meta and may store or read the identifiers listed below to measure ad performance and build audiences.

Marketing cookies are only set after you accept them via the consent banner. You can withdraw consent at any time via the ‘Cookie preferences’ link in the footer.

Meta may change its cookie names or mechanisms; we keep this table updated based on what is observed on our site.

6. Third-party embeds — YouTube

Some pages on kissinparis.com include a button to play a YouTube video in a popup. YouTube cookies are not loaded when the page loads — they are only set if you choose to activate the video by clicking play.

If you activate a YouTube video, Google may set cookies on your device in accordance with its own privacy and cookie policies. We have no control over those cookies once the video is activated.

7. Managing your cookies

You have several options for controlling cookies:

MethodHow it works
Cookie preferences (footer link)The banner shown on your first visit lets you accept or decline analytics and marketing cookies. You can reopen it at any time via the Cookie preferences link in the footer.
Browser settingsAll major browsers let you view, block, or delete cookies. Blocking all cookies will prevent some parts of the site from working correctly.
Google Analytics opt-outYou can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout to prevent your data from being used by GA4 across all sites.
Meta ad preferencesYou can manage your advertising preferences at facebook.com/privacy/policies/cookies or via the AdChoices icon in Meta ads.

Your consent preferences are stored for 6 months. After that, the banner will reappear so you can confirm or change your choices. We also re-ask if we add new cookies or purposes.

We keep a record of your consent choice (the categories you accepted or refused, and the date) for the duration of the consent period. This record is used solely to demonstrate compliance with applicable law.

Withdrawing consent does not affect any processing that took place before you withdrew it.

8. Changes to this policy

We update this policy when we change the tools or cookies we use. The current version is always available at kissinparis.com/cookie-policy. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
