What the Shangri-La Is — And Why Proposals Work Here
The Shangri-La is the venue where KMIP has produced more proposals than anywhere else in Paris. The terraces are private. The Tower is so close it fills the frame without a telephoto lens. The hotel’s service team treats every proposal as if it’s the only one happening that evening, because on your terrace, it is.
What separates Shangri-La from other Palace hotels with ET views: the terraces face the Tower head-on, not at an angle. The suite wraps around the terrace, so the transition from proposal to private dining to the bedroom is a few steps, not an elevator ride. And because you’re booking the suite for the night, there’s no time-slot pressure — your evening moves at whatever pace feels right.
How the Access Model Works
You book a Tower-view suite for the night. The private terrace comes with the room. This isn’t a separate venue rental — you’re staying at the Shangri-La, and the terrace is part of your suite. The proposal happens during your stay, which means you choose the timing: late afternoon, golden hour, or after dark when the Tower sparkles on the hour.
Suite categories range from Terrace Rooms to the Shangri-La Suite and the Duplex, each with different terrace sizes and configurations. We work with the hotel directly to match your production vision to the right room. The suite rate varies by category and season — we negotiate on your behalf.

What We Build on the Shangri-La Terraces
The terrace is the canvas. The production is what makes the evening hers.
We’ve styled this space a hundred different ways. A red-carpet runway through thousands of roses, flanked by standing candelabras, with a dining table at the end set for two — that’s the grand production. A single guitarist, candles along the railing, and an empty terrace with just the Tower and the sky — that’s the intimate version. Both work because the space responds to both registers.
What a typical production involves: our décor team arrives 2–3 hours before the couple. Florals installed, candles lit, music position confirmed, photographer and filmmaker briefed on the timeline and the light. The hotel’s butler coordinates champagne and dinner timing with our team, not with you.
The reveal: she walks onto the terrace and the setting is waiting. The music is already playing. The photographer is already shooting. You have the ring, the words, and a few seconds where nothing else in Paris matters.

The Evening After She Says Yes
Champagne on the terrace. You’ve just gotten engaged, and the Tower is right there. The butler pours. The photographer shifts into couples portraits.
Private dining. The suite’s dining room is set for two, or we’ve arranged a table at a restaurant nearby — a place you wouldn’t find on your own, with a private corner and a menu that matches her taste.
The suite surprise. When you return, the bedroom is transformed — flowers, candles, a personal touch she won’t expect. The production team has come and gone. The rest of the night is yours.
